Dee Williams brings us her latest work. A little ebook called Go House Go – How to Build a Tiny House on Wheels. Dee who has lived in her own tiny house now for several years and is co-owner and builder in her business Portland Alternative Dwellings brings us a little ebook that gives you all the basic knowledge on how to build a tiny house on wheels.
Dee let me preview a copy of this book and I can’t believe all the knowledge she has packed into this little book. Although just 21 pages long, Dee is able to share the engineering basics to help understand how the stresses of a house mounted on a trailer can affect your construction. She gives you size restrictions and permit information along with the basics of trailer construction and how to deal with it. Dee walks you through the floor construction, how to connect the walls and install a gable roof. What is involved in installing the exterior finish and working with vapor barriers, insulation and flashing.
All this for just under $20. Dee’s goal is to help as many people out there find the confidence to jump in and build their own tiny house on wheels. Thank you Dee for making this available and sharing your knowledge and experience.
I Haven’t read this yet but I went to Dee’s PAD workshop and the materials we received were very concise and helpful. My guess is that with this book and a basic framing book from the library that anybody could design their own Tiny House.
I’ve always admired Dee and in particular, her ability to build a Tiny Home with reclaimed materials.
I’m sure this book has good insight and pertinent building tips. What I don’t understand is the price points.
For what she’s offering for $20, the information is free on the internet. When people pay this much, they want more comprehensive information.
Hi all, I just wanted respond to Epperson… First, money is a weird thing and fixing a price to anything is extremely awkward for me. If anyone wants to barter for a copy of the book, I’m in! Barter America! Bring it on!!! yea!
And, to be completely honest, I haven’t found a book at the library that offers quite what Go House Go offers. If it existed, I wouldn’t have worried myself into such a puckered little knot while building my house, trying to figure it out. I burned up a lot of brain on that aspect of the building process… that and trying to figure out how to lift heavy things up a ladder in flip-flops without landing on my newly wrinkled brow.
Go House Go offers great little resource for would-be builders, and it references a bunch of great internet and library resources for further review.
ok… that’s my two-cents worth. I hope you’ll try the booklet and if it doesn’t meet your expectations, simply let me know so i can refund your hard earned cash (or bartered jar of pickles as the case may be). No worries.

Thanks for the clarification and offer to your prospective clients. You’re a hero to many in this movement whether you realize it or not.
That said, I believe you can sell more books with a wider revenue stream at a lower price. It’s just marketing psychology.
When the market conditions are good, people can justify most purchases, frivolous or not.
When the climate is bad, people make very tough decisions to give up basic luxuries.
You have the face recognition and brand appeal to a big audience. If it’s an E-book, price it at $9.99 and it will sell faster. 50% of something is still better than 100% of nothing. If it’s a short booklet, sell it at $15.
There’s just a mental hurdle over prices that people have to overcome when it comes time to make a purchasing decision.
